Evaluation
Evaluation for Grade Placement:
The evaluation will take place (date TBD). Sign-up for the evaluation is currently open.
All new students aged 6 years and above will be evaluated for their Tamil skills before the school session starts. Based on the results of the evaluation, your child will be placed in the appropriate grade. The evaluation will be a short test based on ITA evaluation guidelines.
Please note that there is no evaluation for joining Pre-School, Kindergarten or Grade1 (this is purely based on age). If your child has never been to a Tamil school before, we will consult with the parent and child to assess the child’s knowledge, conduct an evaluation if necessary, and place them in the appropriate grade. Please refer to the table below for ITA specified age eligibility.
Transfer from ITA School to Kamban Tamil School:
If your child is moving to our school from another ITA-affiliated school with a valid certificate of completion, please send the certificate of completion of the prior grade to support@kambantamilschool.org, and upon review your child will automatically go into the next grade when we start in September.
Transfer from non-ITA School to Kamban Tamil School:
If your child is moving to our school from any other non-ITA-affiliated Tamil school, your child must be evaluated before the school session starts per the official ITA evaluation and you should sign up for the evaluation as soon as possible.
